ωδή για ένα σκοτωμένο τουρκάκι - Π. Μηχανικού (1975)

 

Stetson !
You who were with me in the ships at Mylae!
That corpse you planted last year in your garden,

Αυτός ο κάμπος π’ απλώνεται μπροστά μου καταπράσινος
στολισμένος με το κίτρινο της μαργαρίτας
με το κόκκινο της παπαρούνας
με το χαμόγελο της βιολέτας
αυτός ο κάμπος
ανοιχτός κάτω απ’ τις θερμές
αχτίνες του ήλιου φωτεινές
αυτός ο κάμπος
πού μ’ ένα χάδι απαλό
δείχνει στην ψυχή μας το δρόμο της άνοιξης
α αυτό τον κάμπο
πού δοξάζει τον Κύριο και την ψυχή του ανθρώπου
σ’ αυτό τον κάμπο πού δοξάζει το σώμα
και μουρμουρίζει το τραγούδι του ανθρώπου
σ’ αυτό τον κάμπο

κείτεται
σκοτωμένο
ένα Τουρκάκι.

Ένα συσπασμένο πρόσωπο
κομμένο απάνω στον πόνο,
ανάγλυφη
ανήλικη μάσκα
κομμένη στην αιωνιότητα για να ρωτά
αν ο τόπος ήταν πράγματι πολύ στενός
μέσα στο πανηγύρι της άνοιξης
για να ρωτά
αν υπάρχουν εθνότητες ανάμεσα στους λαούς της μαργαρίτας
για να ρωτά
ποιας εθνικότητας είναι το πράσινο χορτάρι.

Ζεσταίνει ήλιος τις ρίζες και το χώμα.
Ξεχειλίζει η αγάπη σαν δροσούλα
μες απ’ τα φύλλα και τούς ανθούς της ψυχής του ανθρώπου
μέσα στην ανοιχτή ειλικρίνεια του κάμπου
και μια ανάγλυφη τρομερή μάσκα ενός παιδιού
κάτω απ’ το πολύ του ήλιου το φως
κινάει τα χείλη
και μιλεί: «Ευχαριστώ.
Με φέρατε σ’ αυτό το δρόμο.
Με φέρατε α’ αυτό το τέλος. Ευχαριστώ σας
δικούς και ξένους».

Γή μου! Κοίμησέ τον γλυκά,
νανούρισε τον. Για σένα

ή φωνή του ποιητή
ρωτάει και πάλι εφέτος
τούς εμπόρους των πετρελαίων
και τούς αποικιστές των πτωμάτων,
ρωτάει τον Στέτσον:

«Το κουφάρι που εφύτεψες πέρσι μέσα στον κήπο σου
άρχισε να βλαστάει, θ’ ανθίσει εφέτος;»

Ντοκιμαντέρ για την Κύπρο στο Youtube (Documentaries on Cyprus on Youtube)

Υπάρχει στο Youtube μια συλλογή-playlist με ντοκιμαντέρ τα οποία καταπιάνονται με την Κύπρο. Η συλλογή μπορεί να εντοπιστεί εδώ. Αρκετά ντοκιμαντέρ είναι στα Αγγλικά, ή εμπεριέχουν υπότιτλους (κυρίως Αγγλικούς, Τούρκικους ή Ελληνικούς), ενώ πολλά είναι προσβάσιμα σε Ελληνόφωνους. * There is a Youtube collection-playlist of documentaries focusing on Cyprus, The collection can be located here. A number of documentaries are either in English, or contain subtitles (mainly English, Turkish or Greek), while a lot of them are accessible to Greek-speakers.

The Hoover Institution had published a Cold War diatribe in 1971 as part of its “Comparative Communist Party Politics” series. Its author, T.W. Adams, had earlier penned a monograph titled “U.S. Army Area Handbook for Cyprus”, issued by the Government Printing Office in Washington.
