Ethnographic Films on Cyprus by Peter Loizos (1974, 1985)

Anthropologist Peter Loizos made the following two documentaries on Cyprus:   Life Chances Four Families In A Greek Cypriot Village (1974) The first ethnographic film on Cyprus by Peter Loizou, Life Chances explores the lives of four Greek Cypriot families in the village of Argaκi and the changes in their modes of living with the development of agricultural production. It can be located by pressing here.   Sophia And Her People (1985) The second ethnographic film on Cyprus by Peter Loizou, Eventful Lives documents the experiences of a Greek Cypriot family from Argaki as refugees. Unlike his first film, narration is seldom used, leaving it to the camera to document the incidents, dialogues and experiences of the people filmed. It can be located by pressing here.    

Some Resources for Accessing Information on the Israel-Iran War (2025)

I am here listing some resources for accessing information regarding the ongoing Israel-Iran war. These are meant to be additional resources and should be complemented by information provided by reliable international media, such as Reuters, Associated Press and Al Jazeera. It should be pointed out that information coming out of Iran is scarce, as internet access has been cut off by the Iranian state, and media censorship in Iran is one of the most extreme in the world. Israel has also implemented military censorship of its media regarding the war. Institute for the Study of War: U.S. think tank providing reliable day by day military analyses regarding ongoing conflicts. The Institute is currently producing reports on the ongoing war twice each day. It lists its sources thoroughly. The last days of a Greek Cypriot village - William Crawford (29/04/76)

The following text is a memo written by US Ambassador to Cyprus William Crawford to the US State Department on 29/04/76, describing the last days of the Greek Cypriot inhabitants of the village of Bellapais, after the Turkish invasion of 1974.
